From Mortal Realms Mud
The TANK command is used to make a character a teaching tank.
- TANK - Shows current teacher status.
- TANK JOIN <password> - Makes a character become a teaching tank.
- TANK RETIRE <password> - Retires a character from teaching.
Once a character is retired from teaching, they can NOT become a
teacher again until they obtain at least one level.
Teacher Group Experience
------------------------
Groups with characters designated as "tanks" will use a different
form. The tanks are teaching the "leveler(s)" while they fight.
This means that the levelers will learn faster than they would on
their own or with non-teachers. Upon killing a mob, the group
experience will be the same as with levelers. However, the
experience will not be split evenly between the group members.
Instead, each tank in the group will subtract a 15% "penalty" from
the total group experience. Then, the levelers in the group will
split that total between them. Once a tank is a lower level than
the characters he is teaching, the levelers will start to gain less
experience since they have surpassed his abilities.
Examples:
- A group of three 0x reincarnate characters kill a mob, and the
group splits 1 million experience.
- Traditional leveling group - Each member gets 333,333 experience.
- One leveler with two tanks - Leveler gets 700,000 experience.
- Two levelers with one tank - Levelers each get 425,000 experience.
- A group of five characters - three 2x and two 1x reincarnates kill
a mob and the group experience is 1 million.
- Traditional leveling group - Each member gets 200,000 experience.
After reinc penalties, the 2x's get 72,000 and the 1x's get
120,000.
- 2x reincs and one 1x reinc are tanks, one 1x is a leveler - The
leveler gets 240,000 experience (1 million minus 60%
(4 tanks x 15%) then multiplied by 3/5 because leveler is a 1x
reincarnate).
