The crows eyes blink and suddenly turn blood-red.
The crow begins to change.  It seems to expand against the gloom,
Shimmering with an aura of crimson light, its shadow rising up 
Like a wraith set free.  The crimson aura dies away and the crow
Is gone.  Nightshade now stands before you.
Nightshade's face twists in anger and it looks as though you
have just become a corpse.
Nightshade shouts 'You want me to bow down to you?'
Nightshade's face suddenly relaxes and she smiles at you.
Nightshade says 'There is a way I would consider paying homage to you.'
Nightshade says 'The dragon, Strabo, has been troubling me lately.'
Nightshade says 'Take care of him and I will pledge my allegiance to you.'
Nightshade says 'Use this dust on him, it will give you a slim'
Nightshade says 'chance to succeed.'
Nightshade throws back her head and cackles with insane glee!
Nightshade turns back into a crow and flys away.

Return to Questor Thews. Go u & 5s & e & 3u.
	
Questor says 'You survived your encounter with Nightshade, a victory'
Questor says 'in itself.  If you succeed in gaining control of Strabo,'
Questor says 'all the powerhouses in the kingdom will bow down to you.'

Go find Strabo. Go d.
	
Abernathy says 'How may I serve you, High Lord?'
Abernathy says 'It is rumoured that The Paladin has been seen in the kingdom.'
Abernathy smiles happily.

Continue on your way to Strabo. Go 2d & 6e & 3n & e.
	
Strabo the Dragon eyes you hungrily.
Strabo says 'What do you want with me play-king?'
Strabo says 'I should roast you for daring to enter my domain.'

You give io dust to Strabo.
Strabo inhales in surprise as he sees what have given him.
Unfortunately for him, this means he gets a full dose of the
Io Dust. While he is under it's influence, you quickly persuade
him to bow to you as king and even manage to talk him into
taking you back to nightshade.
You climb onto Strabo's back and before you know it you are at 
Deep Fell. As Soon as you dismount, Strabo takes off and disappears
into the east.

You may have to wait here for a repop.
	
The Crow shimmers as it turns into Nightshade.
Nightshade tells you 'I will keep my promise, but you will pay
For not slaying Strabo while you had the chance!'
Nightshade turns back into a crow and flies away.

Return to Questor Thews. Go u & 5s & e & 3u.

Questor says 'Good and Bad news has arrived since I last saw you.'
Questor says 'The good news is that the River Master has given his consent'
Questor says 'for his daughter to marry you.  The bad news is that the'
Questor says 'wedding will have to wait, for the Iron Mark has been seen in'
Questor says 'the kingdom.  It is rumoured that when all the kingdom meets'
Questor says 'at the Heart for your coronation, The Mark will be there to '
Questor says 'kill you. If you manage to kill the mark, then you will gain'
Questor says 'both a kingdom and a wife'

Abernathy says 'It is rumoured that The Paladin has been seen in the kingdom.'
Abernathy smiles happily.

All of the prominent figures in the kingdom have appeared
for you coronation.  Unfortunately one of those figures is 
the Iron Mark.  As The Mark spies you and couches his lance to
charge, you grasp your medallion and begin to wish that the
Paladin, champion of the king of Landover, that you have heard
were here to protect you from this Demon that is charging you.
All of a sudden you feel yourself enclosed in the armor of that
that very Paladin.  You feel his strength and bloodlust course
through you and you know that you will Win this battle!
You shout 'I am the Paladin, and I will save Landover from the Mark!'
You *** OBLITERATE *** The Mark!
The Mark is DEAD!!
The Mark screams as the death blow is dealt.
Your head spins as the enormity of your situation sinks in.
The medallion of the king of Landover has let you become the
the Paladin and defeat the mark!  You know that from now on you
will always have a part of the Paladin within you.

Male characters will get:

The guests return to the heart once The Mark is dead.
The guests decide that you are most interested in is the River Master's
daughter, Willow, for you have decided to add a wedding to the
days list of events as well as a coronation.
Willow the Sylph now follows you.
Both the wedding and the coronation go without another hitch
and your subjects sing your praises eternally.

Female characters will get:

The guests return to the heart once The Mark is dead.
The guests decide that you are most interested in is the River Master's
son, Birch, for you have decided to add a wedding to the
days list of events as well as a coronation.
Birch the Fawn now follows you.
Both the wedding and the coronation go without another hitch
and your subjects sing your praises eternally.

Get the 4 pieces of Tarnished eq that the Mark was wearing.  It may have been placed in your inventory (all are auto engrave). Go s & s & e.

Willow the Sylph arrives briskly.

Your pet dies a horrible death.
Willow the Sylph stops following you.

Female characters will get:

Birch the Fawn arrives briskly.

Go up to Rydall. Go u.
	
Rydall throws down his gauntlet, before speaking to you.
Rydall says 'I am Rydall, King of Marnhull and of all the lands'
Rydall says 'east beyond the fairy mists to the Great Impassable.'
Rydall says 'I have come to seek your surrender, Tooth.  My army is set'
Rydall says 'to sweep through Landover like a plague and destroy'
Rydall says 'everything in its path. You have no choice but to accept my'
Rydall says 'challenge.'

If Rydall rides away before you can say accept, go up and then down until he challanges you again.

You say 'accept'
Rydall says 'I knew you would accept my challenge.  Five'
Rydall says 'champions chosen by me will appear here to challenge'
Rydall says 'you individually. If you defeat them all, then I'
Rydall says 'will let you and your puny kingdom live.'
Rydall says 'Otherwise, both will die!'
Rydall rides off, happy that you have accepted his challenge.

Go up and then down to make the opponents arrive. Go u & d.
	
A stony giant approaches the gate calling for XXXXX.
The giant attacks, swinging his club at your head!

You have to look twice when you see what looks like
The paladin coming towards the castle gate.
When you go out to meet him, he attacks!

A man sized metal golem strides jerkily up to the gate.
It attacks you immediately!

The largest worm you have ever seen slithers up and attacks!

A humanoid creature walks smoothly up to the gate.
The ardsheal finally locates you and attacks!

Rydall rides up looking furious.
Rydall shouts 'NO! XXXXX could not have defeated all my champions!'
Rydall shouts 'Landover will be mine!'
Rydall attacks!
...
Rydall is DEAD!!

Once Rydall is dead, you lift his visor to get a look at him
and gasp in astonishment, It is Lord Kallendbor! You know
that he never liked you but you never suspected him of treason!
You get everything from corpse of Rydall.

Get the remaining 4 pieces of Tarnished equipment that fall to the ground (all are auto-engrave). Remove the King's Medallion (this will require that the medallion have it's curse removed). Get a monk to cast remove curse on you. Then you can return to Meeks' Office.
	

King's Medallion is no longer cursed.

You stop using king's Medallion.

You blink as you find yourself back at Meeks' Office.
You give Meeks the King's Medallion.

This quest can be completed with a level 16 character in only Training Issue equipment.
